The African beverage market is gaining a new contender as Castel Group launches FEROX Energy, a new energy drink developed with a distinctly pan-African identity.
The brand was officially introduced in September 2026, with launches across Cameroon, Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire and Senegal. Castel is positioning FEROX toward a young, active consumer base, including students, athletes, creatives, entrepreneurs and young professionals.
FEROX contains caffeine, taurine and vitamins C, B3, B5, B6 and B12. The product is being locally produced in some of its launch markets, reflecting Castel’s wider strategy of building beverage brands around Africa rather than simply importing established international products.
A major part of the launch strategy is its partnership with Francis Ngannou, who has become the brand’s pan-African ambassador under a partnership running through 2029. His association gives FEROX a strong connection to sport, performance and African youth culture.
The launch also demonstrates how multinational beverage companies are increasingly developing products specifically for Africa’s changing consumer market. For Castel, FEROX represents more than another addition to its portfolio—it is an attempt to build a home-grown African brand with ambitions beyond the continent.
